National Student Media Awards
Background
The ‘SMEDIAS’ are open to students from every college across Ireland and is judged by renowned media industry leaders. It’s the Oscars for Students!
The awards celebrate and honour students’ achievements in the areas of Journalism, Film & TV, Radio, Photography, New Digital Media, and Media trí Ghaeilge. Among these are categories covering areas of interest for all media students. There’s everything from print media, to short films, radio DJing, blogging, podcasting and our newest category, 'journalism relating to travel', so there is something for everyone.

It also gives sponsors the chance to have a presence on every college campus and really leverage your sponsorship association across the entire year by using Generation Y‘s full suite of services. Previous sponsors include RTÉ, The Irish Times, TG4, Irish Examiner, Failte Ireland and The Irish Independent.
